Altered Tour: To Be Here With Us  (Exhibits (Museum, Gardens, ...))

Get to know the many faces and stories of refugees in the Lansing area still searching for a sense of home. Artist Sam Jury's project, To Be Here, on view at the Broad MSU, was developed from her time spent with exiled Sahrawi refugees near Tindouf, Algeria. Erika Brown-Binion, Director of theRefugee Development Center in Lansing, will contextualize this message by sharing the needs, struggles, and contributions of our own newcomers now that they are here with us. The mission of the Refugee Development Center is to provide the education, orientation, and support refugees need to become self-sufficient members of society.
